Mariela Molinari

We were very lucky that Mariela Molinari, winemaker at the Catena Zapata winery (http://www.catenawines.com/eng/index.html) in Argentina, took time out of her busy schedule to visit us in Jersey last Friday to host a 'Winemakers Dinner' in Tassili at the Grand.

I had a great day with her visiting several restaurants, showing her around the Island and sitting having a great lunch outside at Green Island.

She couldn't have picked a better day to be here as the sun didn't stop shining and Jersey now has a lot to live up to when she returns, hopefully, in June.

The evening went very well at the Grand, a little noisy at times as they were extremely busy, but the food, wine and company were all excellent.

On the Saturday morning Mariela hosted a quick in-store tasting and in the few hours she was here her wines proved extremely popular with several of them selling out! (They are available online http://dunells.com/Product/ProductSearch.aspx?search=catena and in-store).

As mentioned above, I am hoping Mariela is going to return mid-June when we will organise another tasting and/or dinner somewhere.

Ruinart Champagnes arrive at Dunell's!

We are delighted to announce the arrival of Ruinart Champagnes to our portfolio. Discovering Ruinart is an entry into the universe of the oldest Champagne House. A House which, since 1729, has created its cuvées in the same exacting spirit of purity, luminosity and elegance... characteristic of the Ruinart taste. We are currently stocking the 'R' de Ruinart Brut N.V., the Rosé N.V. and the Dom Ruinart Brut 1998. All superb. The team got to try them out last week and were bowled over by them. Beautiful, elegant Champagnes and we are very proud to be selling them.
